Hello! I thought I’d share an update on one of my goals for 2016 today – to join in with The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery ‘pumpkin passport’ year long cross stitch project.
If you haven’t heard of The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery before I highly recommend checking out their website; created by Amanda and Ashleigh they offer modern, fun, kawaii-inspired cross stitch projects that are seriously cute. As well as many other products, they’ve also developed a year-long cross stitch project – set around a theme and with a new pattern released on the 1st of the month. I’d wanted to take part for a long time and this year’s theme is travel.
We’re now six months into the project and so far we’ve stitched England, France, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Greece and most recently, Russia. On the 1st of every month (or 1am on the 2nd for us in the UK) the newest pattern is emailed over, with a clue as to what next month might be. I always like to have a guess, but have got it very wrong recently! I think July’s pattern might be Egypt, so watch out on my Instagram page to see if I’m right.
In terms of favourites… I’ve loved them all, but maybe The Netherlands has been my favourite? But then I loved doing London (I was definitely in the novelty phase!).
It’s the first year-long project I’ve taken on since my knitted sky blanket and I love it; it’s reminded me just how enjoyable cross stitch is and I love seeing each pattern arrive. It was a Christmas gift from my Mum and it’s definitely a gift that keeps giving!
Are you joining in with the pumpkin passport this year? Or any other year-long projects? Hope you’re enjoying it!
